This water box has a greatly extended rim to keep your work bench free of water. It also has a built-in magnet that efficiently traps steel particles while grinding, and a removable drip tray for long tools. The magnet cleans steel particles off the grindstone. These particles can otherwise be pressed into the surface of the stone and reduce its grinding properties. When you empty the water box, you will find that the steel particles have collected at the magnet. You can clean it easily with a paper towel. For really long tools that extend over the edge of the rim (e.g. long knives and machine plane irons), there is also an extra drip tray that can easily be mounted on the edge and lead the water back to the box.
