The honing paste is used together with Tormek leather honing discs. The unique qualities of the leather together with the honing paste efficiently remove the rough edge that was produced during the grinding process, without damaging the edge. At the same time, it also polishes the ground cut to its final finish. The honing paste consists of a combination of micro abrasives and polishing components (average grit size is 3 micro). One application is sufficient for 5–10 tools. Work the honing pasta into the leather. The leather will be softer and more efficient after each use of the honing paste. When you purchase a new leather honing disc, first impregnate it with a light machine oil so it obtains the right texture and can absorb the honing paste. If you are working in a dry climate, you may need to impregnate the honing disc with a few drops of oil after some time before using the honing paste. Do not let the honing paste dry, but apply more oil if necessary.
